Coming May 1st: The NDP Deliver Dental Care for You!

The NDP Dental Care program will ensure no one will have to miss going to the dentist because it’s too expensive. Dental care is health care. New Democrats will make life more affordable for families and keep everyone healthier.

3.5 million Canadians are getting care, and millions more will be able to sign up on May 1st!

What is covered:

Dental care treatment which is expected to save an
average family at least $1,300 per year.
This includes:

  • Diagnostic and preventive services
  • Basic services
  • Major services
  • Anesthesia or sedation services
  • Orthodontic services

Who qualifies:

Right Now:

  • Seniors aged 65 and over
  • Children under the age of 18
  • Adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate

As of May 1st:

  • Aged between 55 to 64 years old

As of May 15:

  • Aged between 18 to 34 years old

As of May 29:

  • Aged between 35 to 54 years old

  • Social Insurance Number (SIN)
  • Date of birth
  • Full name
  • Home and mailing address
  • List of dental coverage through government social
    programs
  • You and your spouse or common-law partner must
    have filed your tax return for 2023 and have received
    your Notice of Assessment

Co-payment information:

A co-payment is a percentage of fees that aren’t covered and that you will have to pay directly to the dentist/dental hygienist/dental care practitioner.

Your co-payment is based on your adjusted family net income. Even if you are covered 100%, you may have to pay the difference between the CDCP rates and dentist rates.
