"The dumping of debris on a mural honouring MMIWG2S+ is a vile act of racism that shows how the lives of Indigenous women, girls and gender-diverse people are constantly devalued. I stand in solidarity with the families who are still grieving their lost loved ones in the face of this disgusting display of hate.
I am writing to express serious concern about this year’s Canada Summer Jobs funding allocation for Winnipeg Centre, which, including our authorized overcommitment, totals just $790,156, a significant decrease from the $1,308,732 budget in 2022, and $1,385,195 in 2021.
On March 28, 2023, MP Gazan called on the Hon. Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to protect and uphold the right to travel for refugees and former refugees.

WINNIPEG — On Thursday, NDP Critic for Children, Families and Social Development Leah Gazan (Winnipeg Centre) urged the Liberal government to take immediate action to solve the child-care workforce crisis.
In many parts of the country, parents can't go back to work because they simply can't find a child-care space for their little one. Gazan says the Liberals' failure to ensure livable wages and the adequate working conditions that child-care workers deserve is the biggest threat to the success of a national affordable $10-a-day child-care system.

I am writing to request that your department investigate whether Youth for Christ (YFC) Winnipeg violated its Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program attestation. As the MP for Winnipeg Centre where YFC Winnipeg is located, I am concerned by reports that its policies have excluded 2SLGBTQ youth from accessing its recreational facilities, and prevented staff and volunteers from openly identifying as 2SLGBTQ.
